Turmeric for Health
You may have heard of the spice called turmeric (curcumin). For cooking it is used in many Indian based recipes. It gives food a wonderful golden hue and a strong flavor. The spice comes from the root of the plant, like ginger. It is used both raw and in dried form. It has been used in India for over 2500 years, probably first as a fabric dye. What you may not know about turmeric is that it is extremely beneficial for health purposes.
* Anti-inflammatory and Antiseptic
It has long been used for it’s anti-inflammatory abilities. It is also a natural antiseptic. A solution of turmeric and pure water is a good cleaning/healing tool for cuts. The anti-inflammatory abilities also make it a natural treatment for osteoarthritis as well as rheumatoid arthritis

* Childhood Leukemia
Research has shown that ingesting turmeric may reduce the risk of contracting childhood leukemia. If this condition runs in your family, this may be an easy safeguard. See more about this study here.
* Liver Detoxifier
Because bile is one of the substance the liver creates to rid itself and the body of toxins, it makes sense that anything that creates bile would help a sluggish liver with detoxification. Turmeric creates bile flow. Along with it’s anti-inflammatory agents, it is a good liver detoxifier. See more here.
